Kraski A1 - international version
Kraski is designed for beginners who wish to learn Russian using a communicative
multimedia course in self-access mode. The course is easy to use and learners can find all they need
to complete the course satisfactorily.
Although Kraski is aimed primarily at university students, it is suitable for any English speakers with an interest in the Russian language.
The course includes four thematic units, presented in order of increasing difficulty. Each unit presents three communicative situations (presented in video clips), followed by six exercises with an automatic correction and solution facility.
As with every good language-learning software package, Kraski includes a series of study tools: Grammar cards, Vocabulary cards and a Dictionary.
There is also a separate oral skills section “Talking about ...”, which contains speaking exercises designed to help learners improve their oral communication skills by comparing their pronunciation with that of a native speaker.
Other study tools can be accessed from the main menu:
- The Cyrillic alphabet (with recognition exercises to help memorization).
- The Sounds, including the main spelling and phonetic rules and recognition exercises.
- Grammar cards & Vocabulary cards, a useful reference point for all the grammar and vocabulary included in the course.
- A Dictionary which includes definitions of all the words used in the course.
Kraski was produced by Félix San Vicente, director of the Centro Linguistico dei Poli Scientifico-Didattici della Romagna, University of Bologna.
The full version of Kraski is available on-line in the site AlfaCert.
